“Love Is Supreme & Unconditional; Like Is Nice But Limited.” – Duke Ellington

OR Wadya-want-for-nuttin… rrrrrrrrrrrubber-biscuit?! – Charles Johnson

We are what we eat, we reap what we sew, the more we put in the more we get out etc.; these age old cliche´s are kind of goofy but, I can’t help wondering what actually motivated them into existence.

I have known a lot of people who delight in repeating cliche´s without ever considering what they are actually saying.

There are many people who fall in love with a concept or an image of what they want to be/live like; this usually lasts about as long as it takes for them to discover what’s actually involved in achieving THAT concept or image of what they want to be/live like.

It is MY considered opinion that one learns, evolves and finally develops, based on a SINCERE dedication to an unconditional love/appreciation of a calling, interest or vision. Or one simply DOESN’T!

I would further define this as a researching, learning and BUILDING process- definitely NOT of the no pain no gain variety and definitely NOT obtainable through osmosis!

I always loved music. To me that meant everything to do with it; studying, experiencing and UNDERSTANDING all aspects of performing, composing and arranging- in as many genres as possible!

Love is supreme and unconditional; like is nice but limited.” – Duke Ellington
