Scene: Practice room and we are diligently practicing, feeling pretty good that we are getting something done, when all of a sudden we HEAR something from the next room that makes us WONDER are WE as good as the person playing next door.
We have all felt this at one time or another. I made peace with this concept many years ago. I really believe it is like looking in the mirror and WONDERING if I AM as good looking as my friends or someone I see walking down the street etc..
I counsel my students that if we do the best we can, with all the SINCERITY, PASSION & INTENT we are capable of, then the rest will fall into place.
When you get down to it, it’s really about SAYING SOMETHING that YOU want to say. YOU hope it will be received as you intended but after you put it out there, Don’t worry about it.
You really can’t do better than the best you can do, so, love the process, buckle in and GO!
